Delicious Drink Recipes For Mardi Gras
Looking to party New Orleans style this Mardi Gras? Here are three Mardi Gras drink recipes for adults that embody the spirit of New Orleans. These festive drinks are easy to make and sure to get the party started.
The first recipe is for “Classic Hurricane Cocktails.” To make these delicious cocktails that will blow you away you will need:
· 1/2 cup sugar
· Ice cubes
· 2 cups rum
· 2 cups passion fruit juice
· 2 cups orange juice
· 2 cups pineapple juice
· 1/2 cup orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier
· Juice of 4 limes (about 1/2 cup)
· Bitters, such as Angostura
· 8 fresh pineapple wedges
The two part directions for this recipe are:
1. You will need to heat ½ a cup of water and the ½ a cup of sugar over medium heat in a small saucepan until it has dissolved. Let the syrup cool.
2. Then you will need to fill a pitcher with ice cubes, adding the rum, passion fruit juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, orange liqueur, limejuice, and simple syrup. Stir the ingredients until chilled. Use a strainer to pour the cocktails into glasses, topping each with bitters (an alcoholic beverage with a bittersweet flavor) and garnishing with a pineapple wedge.
Note: You can also blend this drink for a slushy texture.
The next Mardi Gras drink recipe is called the “Beer-y Bloody Mary.” To make these special Bloody Marys you will need:
Three 12-ounce bottles of chilled lager beer
· 4 cups chilled tomato juice
· 3 ounces chilled vodka
· Juice of 1/2 lemon
· 3/4 teaspoon celery salt
· Hot pepper sauce to taste
Combine the three chilled 12-ounce lagers, 4 cups of chilled tomato juice, and three ounces of chilled vodka into a pitcher. Next, stir in ½ of a lemon’s juice, ¾-teaspoon celery salt, and the hot pepper sauce to taste. To finish, pour into tall, iced-filled glasses and enjoy.
The last adult Mardi Gras drink recipe is the “Bourbon Cocktail.” This cocktail is simple to make and has a little Vitamin C in it. The ingredients are listed below:
· Ice
· 3 tablespoons bourbon
· 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice, plus 1 strip orange peel for garnish
· 1/2 cup tonic water
All you do is fill a glass with ice. Then add the bourbon and orange juice to the glass. Stir in the tonic and garnish with the orange peel.
